Additional Pools-
ADDITIONAL POOLS

Description- Additional office pool options will be available based on the Team Manager's desires.
Fees will be required to individuals wishing participate as posted by the Team Manager. The following descriptions
are an example of what your specific Team Manager might decide. If you are a member of the Army Sports Pool
controlled pools then the following pools will be available to you at the following prices.
Margin Pools -
A Margin Pool is similar to a Survivor Pool in some ways. With a Margin Pool, you only have a one-time pool fee
($100 of which $80 goes toward the pool and $20 to service fees), and you pick one team each week. Once a pool
member picks a team, he cannot pick that team again. If his team wins, the winning margin, or margin of victory is
added to his season point total. If his team loses, then the winning margin is subtracted from his season point
total. The pool member that has the most points at the end of the season is the winner. Usually total wins are used
as a tie breaker.
A Margin Pool is different from a Survivor Pool in that in a Margin Pool, you play the entire season, you are
not eliminated with a loss. I believe a Margin Pool to be just as much fun, if not more so than a Survivor Pool. It
is a type of pool that you are never really out of it until the end. You could be in first place, and wham, your
team loses by 28 points, and another player’s team wins by 35 points. In a test pool I ran last year with some Army
Sports Pool managers, it was a wild season, with leader changes almost every week.
Digit Pools -
The pool runs the entire regular season with one entry fee ($100 of which $80 goes
toward the pool and $20 to service fees). Players either pick a team or randomly pick teams out of a hat. The
purpose of the game is to have your team use all 10 digits (0-9) in the last digit of their scores throughout the
season. The player(s) whose team has used the most digits wins the pool.
Options -
There are many ways you can run this pool. If the season has just started, players
can be allowed to choose their own team. If the season has already begun, you can still use the digit pool by
assigning players a random team. There are also different ways to determine winners. Some pool managers end the
pool and declare a winner as soon as one player collects all 10 digits. Other pools wait until after the regular
season ends, and then see who has the most digits. Still other pools have players pick random teams and run the
pool the full 21 weeks including play-offs and the Super Bowl. You should discuss the way you want to use the Digit
pool with your players before you start the pool.
SportsBox Pools -
SportsBox, or Squares as some would call it, is a grouping of 100
squares arranged ten by ten into a square. The numbers 0-9 are ran across the top and sides numbering
the squares. The name of one team is on the top and the opposing team on the
side.
Members purchase squares according to game play. Army Sports Pool
controlled SportsBox Pools play in the following manner:
- Members purchase the square they desire according to
position on the square itself
- Once all squares are purchased, numbers are randomly
assigned across the top and side.
- SportsBox Pools are ran according to how they are
advertised - some will pay out quarterly, by halves, or one member takes all.
- If all squares are not sold the squares will be equally
divided amongst the number of buyers.
- If the number is not equal the left over squares will be
randomly assigned.
Fees - The cost for one square is $25 with $2.50 going towards service and
fees. $2.50 will be applied to the Super Bowl pool and $20 towards the SportsBox Pool. If all 100 squares are
sold then the winner will take the following:
- Overall pool available - $2,000
- Quarterly - $500
- Halves - $1,000
- Full - $2,000
